The Agency and the Taiwan Changhua District Prosecutors Office jointly investigated Director Lai X of the Southern Region Branch Office, Freeway Bureau, MOTC, for illegally assisting 15 construction companies headed by Huang X and Lin X to monopolize various bids for maintenance projects from the Freeway Bureau of the MOTC for a long time by leaking procurement information. He accepted up to NT$7.23 million in illegal bribes from these companies as consideration.

The prosecutor concluded the investigation and found that Lai X was involved in the alleged offense against the Anti-Corruption Act and prosecuted him for crimes such as accepting bribes in breach of duty and disclosing confidential information other than national defense.
