Chen X, the chairman of Zhudong Township Representative Council and Wang X, the head of Emei Township, were involved in the alleged offense of taking bribes for a breach of official duties.

The Agency and Taiwan Hsinchu District Prosecutors Office jointly investigated the case that Chen X, the Chairman of the Hsinchu County Zhudong Township Representative Council and Wang X, the Head of Emei Township. Chen X took advantage of the opportunity of procurement of LED street lamps in Zhudong Township and Emei Township to make a bargain with Chiang X and Hsu X. Chiang X and Hsu X agreed to bribe Chen X with ten percent of the budget amount into helping them win the award for bid. Then, Chen X received NT$2.4 million in cash after Chiang X won the bid of LED street lamps in Zhudong Township. The supplier Chiang X also asked Chen X to assist in persuading Wang X to facilitate Chiang X to be awarded with the LED street lamps bidding in Emei Township, and would pay NT$900,000 to Chen X and Wang X after winning the bid.

The case was concluded, and the prosecutor considered that Chen X and Wang X took bribes for a breach of official duties and for an official act. On April 30, 2021, Chen X and Wang X were prosecuted by the Taiwan Hsinchu District Prosecutors Office for the crimes against the AntiCorruption Act.
