Premier Chen Attends the 1st Integrity Awards Ceremony

       The 1st Integrity Awards Ceremony took place at 3:00 PM on November 8, 2023, in the International Conference Hall of the National Central Library. Premier Chen Chien-jen delivered a keynote address during the event, urging departments, agencies, and public institutions to continue demonstrating integrity and positive governance, showcasing Taiwan’s integrity to the world. During the event, trophies and certificates were awarded to 10 representatives from winning agencies. Minister of Justice Tsai Ching-hsiang also presented certificates of appreciation to the judging panel. This heartwarming and grand recognition ceremony conveyed sincere appreciation and acknowledgment to all winning agencies (institutions) and the judging panel.

        In this year’s Integrity Awards, a total of 31 agencies participated in the evaluation process. Under the category of “Overall Integrity of Institutions”, six exceptional agencies were recognized: National Taxation Bureau of the Northern Area, Ministry of Finance; Water Resources Agency, Ministry of Economic Affairs; Department of Land Administration, Taipei City Government; Office of Aerotropolis Public Construction, Taoyuan; Local Tax Bureau of Taichung City Government; Public Health Bureau of Tainan City Government. Four agencies were selected for the award for their outstanding contributions in the Innovative Service Measures category: Li Zhi High School; Agency of Rural Development and Soil and Water Conservation, Ministry of Agriculture ; Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital; Bureau of Land Administration, Tainan City Government. The heads of these agencies attended and received the Awards in person, and representatives from various Government Employee Ethics units were also invited to attend. During the ceremony, featured videos showcased the transparency measures of the six outstanding agencies, and representatives from these agencies shared their sentiments, demonstrating the dedicated efforts of the awarded agencies in promoting integrity governance.

Through the Integrity Awards, it is hoped that more public sector bodies and institutions will emulate exemplary models and benchmarks. This initiative seeks to expand the mutual learning effects among integrity models and actively engage in integrity governance, ultimately achieving the goal of “Clean and Competent Government, Transparent Taiwan” !
