Director En-Wei Lin and students of  Legal Service Center of Tunghai University visited Agency Against Corruption on March 31st, 2021. Our staff gave a tour of our exhibition center and interrogation facilities, and exchanged ideas on the requirements and the duties of anti-corruption personnel.

Issues involving “Building a Clean Government in Hong Kong, China”, “Engaging the Young Generation in the Fight against Corruption” and “OECD Recommendations on Public Integrity and Education for Integrity” were presented and discussed.

Head Prosecutor Lien, Szu-Fan, Prosecutor Liu, Hai-Lun from the Ministry of Justice, our staff from Investigation Division and Planning Division attended the 8th Anti-Corruption Authorities and Law Enforcement Agencies Network (ACT-NET) meeting, and the 32nd APEC Anti-Corruption and Transparency Experts Working Group (ACTWG) meeting, both held in virtual format, from 18th to 19th of February, 2021. Ideas involving anti-corruption prevention and transparency measures related to the covid-19 outbreak, anti-money laundering, asset recovery and international cooperation were exchanged in the meetings. AAC also delivered a presentation in the themed discussion: Corruption Prevention in Crises in the ACT-NET meeting,  regarding the three steps“Remind, Management, Check” we implemented to safeguard the distribution of epidemic prevention materials, and the Nationwide Project Auditing on Medicine Procurements in Public Medical Institutions.

Due to COVID-19, Transparency International held the 19th International Anti-corruption Conference online for the first time, where the public could participate free of charge. Conducted in cooperation with the Anti-corruption and Civil Rights Commission of Korea, the conference took place between Nov. 30 and Dec. 5, 2020. The activities included six seminars, over 100 workshops, and the 2020 Anti-Corruption Awards Ceremony.   The vice chair of Transparency International presided over the opening of the conference. The managing director of World Bank, managing director of International Monetary Fund, president and chairperson of Asian Development Bank, secretary-general of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, president of World Economic Forum, and secretary-general of the United Nations all attended the opening ceremony and respectively elaborated on the anti-corruption measures taken by their organizations.   Through attending the six seminars and fifteen workshops, the Agency Against Corruption learned about the anti-corruption measures taken across the globe, the perspectives of sustainable development goals, and important projects for the future. Moreover, a greater understanding was obtained on the corruption risks that heightened as a result of COVID-19 and its impact on public confidence in the government, social cohesion, and national stability. At the same time, the agency was also able to rethink the significance of adopting transparency to fight illegal activities and engaging in practical cooperations with the governments of other countries, with purpose of improving upon the problems that the nation is currently encountering.   It is generally agreed among various sectors that, in the decade leading up to 2030, corruption will not exist solely in a single country, or in either the public or private sector. Hopefully, through the intensive exchange of ideas via public and private networks in international society, the sharing of the values of integrity and trust, and the perfection of legal and transparent monitoring systems, combined with the promotion of cross-disciplinary collaboration and the suitable application of new technologies in anti-corruption work, it will be possible to achieve the goal of building a society that is transparent and full of integrity and trust.   In the future, the Agency Against Corruption will continue to exhibit its determination in actualizing “clean government, transparent Taiwan, international integration” through identifying direction of social development, increasing anti-corruption energy in the country, and effectively enforcing anti-corruption regulations and policies, thereby showing the achievements of good and honest governance to the people in the country and making Taiwan a cleaner and more competitive nation.

Head Prosecutor Lien, Szu-Fan, Prosecutors Huang, Hui-Hsin and Ho, Chien-Kuan from the Ministry of Justice, our staff from Investigation Division and Planning Division attended the 31st APEC Anti-Corruption and Transparency Experts Working Group (ACTWG) virtual meeting and other related meetings from 19th to 23rd of October, 2020. Issues involving beneficial ownership, anti-corruption prevention and transparency measures related to the covid-19 outbreak, anti-money laundering, asset recovery, international cooperation were discussed; AAC also submitted Taiwan’s UNCAC implementation results and achievements.

Political Officer Jason Hwang and Political Assistant Joey Chao of the American Institute in Taiwan visited Agency Against Corruption on October 15th, 2020 and exchanged views with Director-General Cheng, Ming-Chian on issues such as anti-corruption achievements and the challenges faced, our international engagements, technical exchanges,  experience sharing, as well as the cooperation between Taiwan and the United States.

Accompanied by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, María Rojas Aguilar (Asesora del Despacho Ministerial del Ministero del Interior del Perú) visited Agency Against Corruption on January 14th , 2020 and exchanged views with Director Chang on our anti-corruption achievements.

Accompanied by the staff of School of Law, Soochow University, students from mainland China visited Agency Against Corruption on November 18th, 2019.

Accompanied by the Academy for the Judiciary, Ministry of Justice, trainees of the Judicial Training Workshop for Mongolian Prosecutors visited Agency Against Corruption on November 13th, 2019 and exchanged views with Director-General Cheng on integrity-related issues.

Accompanied by the Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau (MJIB), National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) from Kingdom of Thailand visited Agency Against Corruption on October 2nd, 2019 and exchanged views with AAC officers on the issues of corruption prevention, investigation and civil service ethics works.

On July 18th, 2019, the anti-corruption workers from the national corporations of Ministry of Economic Affairs visited Agency Against Corruption and had a discussion with the AAC officials. 

On July 17th, 2019, students from mainland China of the Soochow Academic Camp visited Agency Against Corruption. AAC officials have arranged a tour, including the introduction of Anti-corruption Exhibition Center, the Interrogation and Investigation devices and so on.

Accompanied by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Judge of the Federal Circuit Court Gregory Egan and Legal Aid Anthony Lin visited Agency Against Corruption on June 19th, 2019 and exchanged views with Deputy Director-General Chen on the issue of integrity.

On June 13th, 2019, Assistant Professor Ming-Li Hsieh led students from University of Wisconsin Eau Claire Criminal Justice Program to Agency Against Corruption and visited the Anti-corruption Exhibition Center.

On May 29th, 2019, students from the School of Law, Soochow University visited Agency Against Corruption. AAC officials have arranged a tour, including the introduction of Anti-corruption Exhibition Center, the Interrogation and Investigation devices and so on.

Accompanied by the National Audit Office (NAO), President of the Supreme Court of Auditors of Honduras, Roy Pineda Castro with his wife, visited Agency Against Corruption on April 16th , 2019 and exchanged views with Director-General Cheng on the issue of integrity.

Accompanied by the Academy for the Judiciary, Ministry of Justice, Dr. iur. Mark A. Zöller, professor from the University of Trier, Germany visited Agency Against Corruption on March 7th, 2019 and exchanged views with Deputy Director-General Ho, as well as other representatives of AAC divisions on integrity-related issues.

A visiting group from the Military Manpower Administration (MMA) visited Agency Against Corruption on December 6th, 2018 and exchanged views with Chief Secretary Tseng and representatives from other functional divisions on integrity-related issues.

The 58th training class for the judges and prosecutors of the Taiwan Taipei District Prosecutors Office visited Agency Against Corruption on November 29th, 2018 and exchanged views with Chief Secretary Tseng on integrity-related issues.

Accompanied by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Auditor General of Republic of Colombia Carlos Hernán RODRÍGUEZ visited Agency Against Corruption on October 8th, 2018 and exchanged views with Deputy Director-General Chen on the issue of integrity.

Accompanied by the National Audit Office (NAO), The Minister of Brazil's Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) Walton Alencar Rodrigues and the Director Macleuler COSTA LIMA visited Agency Against Corruption on October 1, 2018 and exchanged views with the Chief Secretary Tseng on the issue of integrity.

Taiwan held the Review Meeting of the Initial Report under the United Nations Convention against Corruption from August 21st to 24th, 2018. The five international review committee members had a wide ranging and in-depth discussion with representatives of Taiwan government agencies, led by Executive Yuan Minister Without Portfolio Law, Bing-Cheng during the conference.

Accompanied by the Control Yuan, the Second Vice President Chris Field and APOR Director Peter Boshier of International Ombudsman Institute(IOI) visited Agency Against Corruption on August 14th,2018 and exchanged views with Director-General Chu on the issue of integrity.

On June 26th, 2018, the anti-corruption workers (Intermediate-Level Training Class) from the national corporations of Ministry of Economic Affairs visited Agency Against Corruption and had a discussion with the AAC officials.

On May 11th, 2018, Assistant Professor Chia-Yuan, Hsu and the students from the Department of Law, Providence University visited Agency Against Corruption.

Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Mr. Edgar Edwin Hillary and the delegations from the Kingdom of Swaziland visited Agency Against Corruption on February 1, 2018, and exchanged views with the Director-General Chu on the issue of integrity.  

Parliamentarians from the Republic of Ecuador visited AAC on November 2nd, 2017.
