Ministry of Justice Awarding Model Ethics Officers and Joint Oath-Taking of Newly Appointed High-Level Government Ethics Officers
Deputy Minister Hsu encourages ethics officials to be self-disciplined and to demonstrate integrity through professional expertise and cross-sector collaboration!
The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) Ceremony for the Awarding 2025 Model Ethics Officers and the Joint Oath-Taking of the Newly Appointed High-Level Government Ethics Officers was held at the grand hall of the Ministry of Justice on August 15 at 9:30 AM, hosted by Deputy Minister Hsu, Shi-Shiang.
Deputy Minister Hsu congratulated the 9 newly appointed high-level government ethics officers on their new positions, encouraging them to shape their organizations’ visions with a comprehensive view and innovative thinking, rise to challenges with consistent enthusiasm, commitment, and a strong sense of responsibility, and set an example through their actions.
At the same time, Deputy Minister Hsu congratulated the 10 awardees of the Model Ethics Officers Award this year, including those from ethics units across the country, who represent both frontline and mid-tier posts, and have all delivered outstanding performances in their respective roles. The awardees’ video profiles powerfully conveyed our ethics officer’s strong sense of mission and tireless dedication. The Awardee’s achievements include investigating major corruption cases, promoting administrative transparency, optimizing the prison system, advancing integrity education, strengthening environmental protection and customs risk management, and combating offenses undermining the green energy industry with cross-sectoral collaboration. Through their conduct, the Awardees demonstrated ethical values.
Deputy Minister Hsu noted that ethics Officers’ ability to devote themselves fully to their duties depends on the selfless support of their families and teams. To share this honor, the award recipients’ families were invited to the ceremony. To meet the public’s trust and expectations for integrity work, he set out four aspirations:
- Cultivate personal integrity and strengthen ethical foundations.
- Grasp emerging trends and reinforce risk prevention.
- Promote cross-domain collaboration to expand collective capacity.
- Embrace innovation to optimize governance models.
Deputy Minister Hsu emphasized that cross-sector cooperation is essential to integrity work. It cannot be carried out single-handedly; agencies must leverage existing organizational networks and frontline oversight. The ongoing push to advance the Whistleblower Protection Act and the Classified National Security Information Protection Act is a concrete embodiment of inter-ministerial, cross-sector collaboration; it not only strengthens institutional safeguards but also injects fresh momentum into Taiwan’s integrity governance. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to all ethics officers and their families and friends for their selfless dedication and support, which provided a solid foundation for their integrity work. The Ministry of Justice and the Agency Against Corruption will continue to refine their efforts and, together, elevate integrity governance to new heights.
