Ministry of Justice Holds Ceremony for 2026 Model Integrity Officials and Joint Oath-Taking of Newly Appointed High-Level Government Ethics Officials

Minister Cheng has called on ethics officials to uphold self-discipline and incorporate a digital mindset to foster a resilient and integrity-driven nation.

The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) Ceremony for the Awarding of 2026 Model Ethics Officials and the Joint Oath-Taking of the Newly Appointed High-Level Government Ethics Officials was held at the grand hall of the Ministry of Justice on August 5, presided over by Minister Cheng, Ming-Chien.

Minister Cheng congratulated the 12 newly appointed high-level government ethics officials on their new positions, encouraging them to deepen resilient governance and equip themselves with a forward-looking, innovative vision and a comprehensive perspective. In addition, the Minister looks to them to practice empathetic leadership through mutual understanding and two-way communication, build strong cooperation with agency heads and units, and lead the ethics team to overcome challenges and demonstrate the vision expected of senior executives.

The Minister also congratulates the 10 awardees of the Model Integrity Officials Award. The awardees come from ethics units across the nation and represent a wide range of positions, both managerial and non-managerial. All have demonstrated outstanding performances in their respective positions. The awardees’ accomplishment video powerfully conveys their strong dedication, integrity, and professionalism. Whether stepping onto the front lines to investigate major corruption cases, actively promoting administrative transparency and anti-corruption mechanisms, optimizing risk management for various operations, or conducting integrity education to deepen public legal awareness, they have integrated integrity into public governance. The Minister believes that the support of family, friends, and the teams serves as a strong backbone for the awardees to dedicate themselves to integrity work, and is the true source of the award’s brilliance.

To live up to the people’s trust and to rise to new challenges brought by new technologies, the Minister puts forward five expectations:

  1. Strictly uphold integrity and discipline and implement the core value of clean governance.
  2. Strengthen early-warning mechanisms for agencies integrity risks.
  3. Stay attuned to public opinion and promptly clarify and respond.
  4. Incorporate a digital mindset to build security defenses for the agencies.
  5. Expand public-private partnerships and deepen international exchanges.

The Minister emphasizes that government ethics officials must maintain high sensitivity to identify risks in advance, proactively propose improvement measures, assist in closing loopholes, and promote administrative transparency. Furthermore, as corruption crimes become increasingly sophisticated and technology driven globally, integrity governance must evolve with the times. The utilization of the “Government Procurement Integrity Platform” and the promotion of the “Integrity Award” are both vital for setting benchmarks for clean governance. Taiwan will welcome the international review meeting for the 3rd National Report under the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) this August. The nation must continue to uphold the spirit of open government, actively align with international standards, and let the world witness Taiwan's robust clean democratic achievements. The Minister expresses the hope that all government ethics officials will stay true to their original aspiration and work together to build a safer, more resilient, and trustworthy clean Taiwan.
